A Team of Delegates from Rajasthan Visits APARD

            A Team of Delegates from Rajasthan consisting of Officials and Elected Representatives from Grassroots level to Policy level has visited APARD as a part of exposure visit under UNDP-CDLG Project. The Team lead by Shri Sh.D.P.Gupta, Dy. Secretary (Trg) Rajasthan PR Department will stay in APARD till 22.01.2011 and interact with the faculty of APARD and also visit a few Gram Panchayats and Mandal Parishads to study the functioning of PRI's in Andhra Pradesh.

            The Commissioner, APARD Shri K.Chandramouli, IAS has interacted with the delegates and made a Power Point Presentation on the efforts being made by APARD for building the capacities of Elected Representatives and Officials Functionaries. He emphasized that APARD is the pioneering Institute in leveraging IT for continuously reaching large number of target group of over 5 lakhs.             The Deputy Secretary PR while addressing the APARD Faculty has said that the team is particularly interested in knowing the strengths and weaknesses of APPR Act, Devolution of Powers to PRI's, Resource envelop of PRI's, functioning of Gramasabha and PRI's as a whole and Decentralized Planning through PRI's and requested APARD faculty to enlight the team members with this information.

            Prof.Suryanarayana Reddy, Centre Head, CDP&A who is Co-ordinating the exposure visit said that the concern of the delegation will be taken in to consideration and necessary sessions would be organized in due course of time.The delegation expressed satisfaction over the academic content packaged for them.
